Kimberly

Female (Altered) — Date of Birth: 07/30/2005 (19 years old (Senior))
Shepherd / Retriever Mix
A sweet small-to-medium sized dog (she’s around 35 lbs), two-year old Kimberley is discovering the joys of being with people—and she is blossoming! When she first arrived, she was afraid of stairs and of coming inside the house, but now she runs to her crate after breakfast and at bedtime for the treats that she knows she will receive. She plays well with the other dogs, is learning to walk like a lady on a leash, and loves to retrieve her plastic ball and barbell. She tends to be dominant—occasionally scuffling with the other dominant adolescent in her foster’s pack, but the two dogs are teaching each other about social skills and how to get along...She tends to be food-aggressive, so she is fed separately (all of the dogs are), but we think it’s because she craves all of the good things she’s receiving now and never had before. She loves to cuddle and be around her foster family, and would be happy to spend every moment of their day with them. She’s a quick learner (although she can be a bit hard-headed about learning to let the other dogs have what she wants), and will make some family a wonderful pet. She’d be great with children as well as with adults, and seems not to notice cats (although we wouldn’t guarantee anything based on her limited exposure to them).
